Member benefit update: join the Sustainer membership and get Inseego Mifi M4
We are excited to announce that starting from May 26, 2026, the Sustainer membership will come with a new model: the Inseego Mifi Pro M4. Similar to the Mifi X Pro model, the M4 is also a 5G hotspot. It supports simultaneous dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4GHz & 5GHz) at the Wi-Fi 7 standard, USB and ethernet tethering, and up to 50 connected devices. The M4 has an internal 2x2 SU-MIMO antenna and 2 TS-9 external antenna ports. It has a removable battery that allows usage with only AC power to avoid battery-related issues, such as overcharging.
If you are interested in joining the Calyx Internet Membership program, from May 26, 2026 you can sign up to be a Sustainer member and get a M4 hotspot with a full year of unlimited data. This membership requires a first-year contribution at $750. After that, the annual contribution for membership renewal is $500, and the quarterly contribution is $175.
If you are a Calyx member with a Mifi X Pro or M2000 as your active membership device, you do not need to replace your device. No changes to the performance and functionality of your device are expected as part of this development. You can continue to use your Mifi X Pro, and you can continue to contact tech support at 877-216-9603 for support with any issues you experience with your hotspot. Current Calyx Sprout (BYOD) members are not affected by this device upgrade in any way.
Before you decide if a Sustainer membership is right for you, check if you are covered by the T-Mobile network and make sure you have adequate 5G coverage. Wi-Fi data for all Calyx memberships is unlimited and unthrottled. The only factors that could influence internet speed is if the hotspot supports 5G networks or any update or policy change to T-Mobile’s connectivity. Our organization cannot provide test hotspots or issue refunds if the mobile network service in your area is inadequate or non-existent. Our wireless hotspots and data plans are offered as a thank-you gift to member donors who support our tool development and research in privacy-protecting open-source technology.
